Luz Gonzalez de Bashan |
Luz Gonzalez de Bashan was always
interested in art of other people. Trained as a scientist in environmental
biotechnology, she was way too busy in her scientific and teaching career
at Javeriana University in Bogota, Colombia and did not intend to pursue
an art career. Upon moving to Mexico, life became less stressful, time
more available, and economic constraints diminished. As a hobby, she
started to paint small watercolors that were avidly collected by her
acquaintances. In recent years, she became involved in training in
watercolors and oil painting, and produced a large collection of works.
Her favorite theme has always been small-scale landscapes.
She resides in a small country home near the city of La Paz, Baja
California Sur, Mexico with her husband, Yoav Bashan, who is also an
artist and scientist.
